AND A SNEAK PEEK!
Hello!
I have Moonlit Shadows Taken and Moonlit Shadows Bitten in my possession again. I am already doing a quick read through, and then will ship them off to have them formatted. I know, it's not quite the news you were hoping for, but book 1 is now one step closer to being republished. Which means--book 2 will soon follow!
Until then, here is a little sneak peek of MOONLIT SHADOWS BITTEN, book 2 of the Moonlit Shadows Series:

MOONLIT SHADOWS BITTEN
We love you, Dad and Mom. She silently mouthed the inscription carved at the intersection of the cross.
As sorrow gripped her heart, tears brimmed and fuzzed the words away. A quick swipe of the hand across each eye cleared her view, and she laid the cluster of flowers at the base of the cross.
“Did you know them?” A deep voice broke the silence.
Sami sucked in a fearful breath and jumped up to face the intruder. He stood at least six feet tall. His hair was dark brown, mixed with gray, and his eyes were darker. Stubble covered half his face.
“It’s okay,” he said in a gentle voice, raising his hands in front of him. “I’m not going to hurt you.”
The twinge of fear running through her blood told her to run, but she couldn’t even utter a word, let alone move.
“I was just hunting. I saw you crying and came to see if you were all right.”
She glanced at his clothing for some indicator he spoke the truth, but a red plaid shirt and worn jeans didn’t differentiate a hunter from a serial killer. To her relief, she didn’t see a gun, but his broad shoulders and bulging forearm veins proved he could still overpower her.
Could she outrun him? Not a chance. She remembered the knife, wondering if she could get to it before he could get to her.
“I thought you might be hurt or lost,” he continued, his voice soothing. He motioned with a hand to the graves. “I knew them too.”
Still unable to talk, Sami gulped, waiting to meet her fate.
“So…are you all right?” the stranger asked.
Somehow, she summoned the courage to nod, and then, to speak. “I…I’m lost.” Her voice quavered, along with her chin. She pressed her lips together to steady them.
“Okay.” He smiled. “I can help you. Lucky for you, I’m not lost. I’ve been hunting in these woods for years.”
She looked at his empty hands and then back to his face. “Where’s your gun?”
“I hid it behind the bushes over there—” he looked over his left shoulder “—because I didn’t want to scare you.” He tromped to the bushes at the tree-line and pulled out a rifle. Then, he made his way back through the brush to where he had just stood.
His honesty didn’t ease her trepidation as she stared at the weapon he gripped. But, if he wanted to hurt her, wouldn’t he have done it already? Wouldn’t he be pointing the gun directly at her instead of at the ground? Or, was he was just toying with her for the sick fun of it?
